Malicious Gossip: Difference between revisions

• socially ostracize people through isolation, ego reinforcement or be forms of punishment, such as from the lack of acceptable social standard, such as a person’s judgment of morality and accountability

• most times it is highly inaccurate information and based on peoples personal fears, lies and self-deceptions

• Most times it is people projecting their personal issues onto other people

• used to manipulate enemy patterns and create “ us vs. them”, or some other competition agenda that polarizes the group environment

• Really hurt people’s feelings and make them feel unsafe, inadequate and not able to connect with others through fears of persecution

• Destroys group morale and damages bonding though unified cooperation

• Lack of acceptance in a group environment leads to person manifesting delusions or assumptions that are not true

• Assuming anything about another person when you do not have the facts, creates suspicions and lack of trust

To avoid harmful gossip, we must clarify our speech to focus on facts and if you do not have them, then be silent. Always, look for facts and demonstrated behavior to verify information. Especially, if this has a negative connotation and the potential to feed victimizer programs that can further hurt or harm anyone. If you have knowledge of facts and direct experience, and it is known to potentially create harm, then contact the person directly, and discuss it with them. There is no need to tell twenty other people about that incident, unless, the moral dilemma is that person is still acting recklessly and harming many other people without their awareness. Even so, this is very sensitive, we must look to our inner motivations, and do our best to express ourselves with pure harmless intention, with the only motivation being to speak the truth as carefully as we can to describe what we may know.
