Fixed star Deneb Algedi, Delta Capricorni, is a 2.8 magnitude binary star system in the Tail of the Sea Goat, Capricornus Constellation. The traditional name Deneb Algedi comes from the Arabic term ذنب الجدي (ðanab al-jady) which means the tail of the goat.

Fixed star Deneb Algedi is of the nature of Saturn and Jupiter. It is said to cause beneficence and destructiveness, sorrow and happiness, and life and death.

Deneb Algedi is one of the 15 Behenian Fixed Stars. Its image is a hart, goat, or angry man. It gives prosperity and increases wrath. Rules chalcedony, marjoram, mug-wort, nip and mandrake root. Deneb Algedi is supposed to portend happiness and life. Deneb Algedi rules the blood vessels and nerve connections surrounding the vertebrae in the human body.

Constellation Capricornus has a great influence over human affairs portending major changes in such areas as climate and political customs. Along with the sign, the constellation is also noted as the “Mansion of Kings”. Unfavorably situated with regards to lunar eclipses, it indicated major storms, especially at sea. [1]
