Since we're living in the fight/flight zone so much of the time on planet Earth we should learn to pay more attention to what our body is feeling. And, again in this month's newsletter we had a [[Physiology of Fear|scale of response so that we can self assess]]. Where are we on the scale of stress in our body? We can have low level activation or fight/flight where we feel unease or irritability or it's a little more activated when we're feeling anxiety or maybe we're feeling angry and then at the high end of this we may feel we're having a panic attack and we may even feel rage and this is when we're getting closer to the threshold where the body switches into freeze and goes numb in the nervous system. Recognizing this that the issue with the survival brain with the unconscious is that we can't fake it out. If that's what we're feeling we've got to really face it if we want to learn how to relax we've got to create conditions for our body, for our physiology to move into a relaxed mode. If we're living with a predator, if we're working under a predator, if we're not having very basic needs met we're going to be in fight/flight on some days.
